f*** the caste system!
we are all humans. i think we should be humans. lets not behave like animals. f*** the caste system, once again.
i get angry thinking of the fast spreading disease - caste feeling. it would be wonderful if there was nothing like a caste or if there was a single religion or no religion at all.
i saw the scraps of a friend's younger brother and it really disturbed me. a guy scrapped him on orkut asking him to join a community for the students of a particular caste of theirs from their college who were admitted in 2007. i would feel disgusted at the feel of this caste rivalry and hoped that it would end soon... but a 17 year old being dragged into all this shit and another 17 year old encouraging this is absolute bull shit. where are we heading?? is this progres? this is serious stupidity! lets put an end to this. i know there are no more than a few people reading this, but i really can't handle this. it's disturbing.
i don't understand why people take pride in their castes. in spite of we being educated, and behaving this way is irresponsiblity and idiocracy. we should all realise that we are humans. most of us have ten fingers on our hands, ten fingers on our legs, two eyes, one nose and two ears. we all look like.. our brain functions the same way; there might be a slight difference in the intelligent quotient. the caste system was started to differentiate people based on their occupations. it has now become a social status symbol. there are numerous castes in the hindu religion alone now and hundreds of sub-castes. shame on our parts.
people of the so called lower castes feel inferior and poeple of the so called upper castes feel proud to belong to their castes. i have no words to explain how stupid i feel about such people.
most andhrites are very particular about caste. i am happy to not carry my caste name in my name. infact i feel proud about it! i have always had strong hatred towards the caste system and i never took pride in my caste because i knew i was like any other person on earth. i am no way superior to anybody. i've come across people who would glorify their castes! i tried hard to explain that caste serves no purpose other than dividing people. none of them seem to have changed. it's the responsibility of the government to try and enlighten people with campaigns.
our leaders should be encouraging people to kill the feeling of caste. but, the greatest irony is that present day politics is stinking of caste feeling. many people i know cast their votes on the basis of the leader's caste. if this is the way people are going to continue thinking, the country is going to go backwards. the telugu film industry is the best example of caste discrimination. lets leave alone the discrimination in the industry. lots of people don't watch movies of some actors because they are from a caste they dislike! can there be anything more foolish? and the worst thing is that parents telling their children not to watch movies of an actor of a particular caste. atleast children should be kept away from this filth... that would give us a hope of a caste feeling-free society, if not a caste-free society. it's time people are educated about this and it's high time foolish parents stop brain washing thier kids' innocent minds.
one small request to all you people reading this - please do not take pride in your caste and treat everybody with respect, irrespective of their caste or creed. it's wonderful if you already hate caste feeling and don't take pride in your caste. caste feeling is for the losers, the ignorant and the mindless. i'd consider myself successful if you give a small thought to this article by me, who is probably sounding like a small time revolutionary leader!

IPL and my thoughts
this is my first post on the blog. and the topic - IPL. cricket's been my passion right from my childhood, so what better topic than this?
yesterday, the players for the Indian Premier League were auctioned. MS Dhoni was bought by chennai super kings for a mind boggling 6 crore rupees! andrew symonds was the next big buy. the hyderabad franchise bought him for 5.4 crores. was an exciting day yesterday watching all the news channels and reading websites for news, and creating my own orkut community for IPL Hyderabad!
my admiration and respect for vvs seems to go up and up day by day. in this age when players are making hay while the sun shines, getting richer and richer evryday with endorsements and contracts, there's one guy who is still thinking for the team. vvs laxman turned down the 'icon' status which would have made him richer by atleast another crore in the interest of the team. vvs asked the hyderabad franchisee Deccan Chronicle to use the money on spreading the budget and buying better players instead of making him the icon player. there are 5 icon players right now - sahcin, dada, rahul, sehwag and yuvraj and all off them now earn around 4.5 crores compared to vvs laxman's 1.5 crore. a great sacrifice for the team... what a guy he is!
coming to the teams, my personal favourite is the hyderabad team, not just because its my hometown but because of the quality of players it has. andrew symonds, adam gilchrist, shahid afridi, herschelle gibbs, scott styris, rp sigh, rohit sharma, chamara silva, chaminda vaas, nuwan zoysa and one of my all time faves VVS Laxman. T20 needs big hitters, agile fielders and multi taskers. andy symonds is the best ODI player at the moment.. he can blast any bowling attack on his day single handedly. boom boom afridi - the name says it all! adam gilchrist - the greatest wicketkeeper-batsman ever and one of the hardest hitters of the ball, a bowler's nightmare, herschelle gibbs - electrifying fielder, a monster when it comes to hitting the cricket ball over the rope(he hit six sixes in one over in an ODI last year). rohit sharma and rp were instrumental in india's T20 world cup win. they are two youngsters who've shown great pormise. vaas is really stingy when i comes to giving away runs, and a genuine allrounder styris in the lineup is a big boost. chamra silva can play the anchorman innings when the batting fails, nuwan zoysa ia a decent buy too. a special mention for the most stylish batsman i've ever seen VVS laxman. it would be really interesting to see this unsung hero play T20 cricket. he's not the kind of player who would come and blast away a bowling lineup. he's more of a traditional batsman driving, flickng and nudging balls. he is not a dasher like gibbs, afridi, gilly and symonds. a fine sqaud i would say. there is not much promise in the hyderabad domestic circuit, which could be a big setback.
kolkata and chennai are two other teams which are quite strong. kolkata has dada as the captain, gayle opening, mccullum as the keeper, ponting, david hussey in the middle order, akhtar and gul to fire in those yorkers in the end overs and india's new pace sensation ishant in the squad. chennai has dhoni, murali, oram, fleming, ntini, mike hussey and the brilliant hayden in their squad. surely IPL is here to stay. looking forward to this championship.
